The craft behind every Omsha dress, hand block printed cotton

Meet the craft behind every Omsha dress

Hand block printing is one of the oldest textile arts in the world, practised in India for over 2,000 years. Every pattern begins as a design carved by hand into a block of wood, dipped in dye, and pressed onto the fabric one stamp at a time.

It takes up to forty steps to produce a single length of cloth, and every one of them is done by hand. Which is why no two pieces are ever identical. The small variations in the print are not flaws. They are proof that a person made this, for you.
